Just a thought.... [09 May 2005|09:32pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

Some friends and I were kicking around the idea of going to Key West for Fantasy Fest the last weekend in October. It's a big maybe right now because hotels are crazy expensive down there for Fantasy Fest (like, 4 digits a night). However, since I have a giganamous tent, we were thinking of scrapping the hotel idea in favor for the much more cost effective solution: camping.

Why am I bringing this up in this community?
Because Key West is infamous for ghosts. The last time I was in Key West, I took the Hanuted Tours and the story of Robert the doll scared the shit out of me.

So I thought I would see if maybe any of you would be interested in joining us on our trip. I have no real details to give as of now. Just that the people going so far are myself, closetmonkey, and her girlfriend. My tent is BIG. 2 rooms with a screened in porch type area. However, if enough people want to go, we'll probably need a second tent. And I'd like to get a head count by July at the latest so we can definitely get camping space somewhere (for hotel rooms, you usually have to book a year in advance).

Fantasy Fest, btw, is kind of like Gay Mardi Gras, hense the expense and the need to book early.

Date change [09 May 2005|09:20am]

[ mood | frustrated ]

Ok, so I'm an idiot and didn't realize that the RANDOM date I picked for the Savanah trip just happened to be on memorial weekend. The prices for hotel rooms then are absolutely outrageous, so sadly we are going to have to change the date. June is going to be really busy with Pride, so I figured early July would be a good time to go.

What do you guys think?

Update [05 May 2005|05:40pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Ok, So I have made definite plans with Ziggy about Savanah in the last weekend of May. I think Ann is signed on, but I'm not sure. Keith and I will talk about it on Sunday and Season showed some interest as well. I'm looking into hotels and sights that we can visit around town. And I'm talking really cheap hotels, just because we're poor.

So that's about it. Just wanted to post a reminder.

Savanah [25 Apr 2005|06:15pm]

[ mood | thoughtful ]

Me and Keith have been throwing around the idea of going to Savanah for the ghost hunt. I looked up the city and their are LOTS of places we can check out. I talked to Jonathan about it and he wants to go as well, and yesterday Ann said that she was interested as well. So, maybe setting a date would get the ball rolling. How about taking a weekend trip to Savanah May 27th, 28th, and 29th?

How does everyone feel about a ghost hunting expedition sometime this summer?

I have a giganamous tent if we want to camp anywhere.

Bad News [21 Dec 2004|10:02am]

[ mood | disappointed ]

I'm not sure when we will be able to go on our little excursion into the realm of the ghosts this month. Jonathan hurt his back really bad, he can't even go to back to work until next week. But trust me, I haven't forgotten about it and I'm sure the release of white noise will get everyone else excited about too. I'll post later with an approximate time we will be able to go.

Devi'ls Turnaround [20 Sep 2004|04:45pm]

[ mood | annoyed ]

This was just one of the cool sites that I found.

Marietta - Devil's Turnaround - Large objects will be thrown if set on ground, orbs, lightning, mist, very cold winds, shrieking, kids laughing, chanting, yelling, screaming all around a bad place to go. People have come back and had large bruises and fang marks on legs, upper arms, wrists and necks. Crucifixes, prayer, holy water only make whatever is there mad. If you go, wear no crosses or anything Christian like. Weekends are the worst time.

I did some researching on the location and found out that it isn't too far away. It's off a road called White Circle Road which is right off of Cobb Pkwy. There is a church and a cemetery there. Once of the people that had been there said that while there may have been some paranormal activity, he experienced nothing as violent as the above description. I figured we could use it as a back up.

The first meeting of the Midnight Society (Mwhahah) [17 Sep 2004|12:03pm]

[ mood | excited ]

Yeah, I know the name is cheesy, but as a child of Nikelodeon I had to use its influence. For the first post I'm just gonna line up the people who are interested in joining up. And that should be everyone that is a member of this community.

Ann- mejane

Now, I have looked at an ASS TON of sites so far and have found a lot of stuff.  I'm only going to post a couple of links that were really good.  Take a look at them and just get a feeling of what we are trying to do.

http://theshadowlands.net - This place was by far the best, it gives a walk through of how to conduct a hunt, and also good listings for places we can go.

 http://dawghouse.topcities.com/hauntedus.html - This is a decent directory

www.wikpedia.com -just gives a few general definitions and it's free.

That's about it for now, if everyone would shoot me an email or reply to this message so that I can make sure all the invites went through that would be great.
